Most Kenyan families still find a house manager through a cousin, a neighbour, or a stranger at a stage. Most house managers still find work the same way. It works often enough — and when it fails, it fails badly, for both sides.
House Managers exists to put something in between: a place where identity is checked by a person, where phone numbers are not handed around, and where both sides can talk before they commit to anything.

Numbers are masked until both sides are ready. A house manager can shut off contact in one tap and it takes effect immediately.

House manager is skilled work. It is free to list here, always, and we will never take a cut of anyone's wages.
What we are not
This matters enough to say plainly. House Managers is an intermediary — an introduction service.
- We are not the employer. We do not pay wages, set hours, or supervise anyone.
- We are not an agency. We take no placement fee and no commission on wages.
- We are not a background-check service. We confirm identity. We cannot vouch for character, and we say so on every profile.
- We are not a party to your agreement. What you agree between yourselves is yours to honour.

Built for the phone in your hand
Most of our visitors arrive on an Android phone over a 3G connection, sometimes on a handset that cost less than a month's airtime. So this site is built light: no heavy frameworks, images that load only when needed, and pages that work if the connection drops mid-scroll. If it is fast on a cheap phone in Machakos, it is fast everywhere.
Who is behind it
House Managers is built and run in Kenya. If something is broken, unfair, or just confusing, tell us — a person reads every message.
